The Washington State Elks Association was proudly represented at this year’s Grand Lodge Convention held in Chicago, where members celebrated leadership, service, and outstanding achievements.
A highlight of the convention was the installation of the new WSEA President, Ben Braden, marking the beginning of a year of commitment to working together throughout Washington. The convention also recognized the appointment of the new District Deputy Grand Exalted Rulers, who will provide guidance and support to lodges across the state during the coming year.
WSEA members Heather Beal and Mike Kennedy participated in the patriotic opening ceremonies by proudly carrying the United States Navy flag and the Merchant Marine flag, honoring the service and sacrifice of those who have served our nation.
Presentations showcased the exceptional work being done in Washington lodges, recognizing programs that strengthen communities and grow our lodges and Association. Membership remained an important focus throughout the convention, with discussions centered on welcoming new members, engaging current members, and building stronger lodges for the future. Washington was recognized for achieving a positive gain in membership—a testament to the dedication of our lodges in welcoming new members and strengthening the Order across the state.
The convention also some prestigious Five Star Awards, recognizing excellence for our State Newsletter by editor Jenn Steele as well as our booth at the convention, thanks to State Secretary Steve Sholz and team.
The Grand Lodge Convention was a memorable event that highlighted the pride, patriotism, and commitment of the Washington State Elks Association. Congratulations to our new leaders, award recipients, and everyone who represented WSEA with distinction.
