Eliminating the Use and Abuse of Illegal Drugs
The Elks National Drug Awareness Program is the largest volunteer drug awareness initiative in the United States.
The Elks are committed to eliminating the use and abuse of illegal drugs by all members of society and believe that to ensure a bright future for our country, it is essential that our children be raised in a drug-free environment.
Our goals are:
- To educate all ages on the dangers of drug and alcohol use.
- To provide opportunities for students to educate peers.
- Promote Red Ribbon Week to honor the memory of DEA agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena
- Provide contests with a new theme each year in the areas of essay, poster, and video promoting drug awareness.
