A National Youth Free Throw Contest
The Elks Hoop Shoot is a free throw contest for youth ages 8-13. This program has been running for over 50 years and aims to help kids develop grit and perseverance through friendly competition.
The program is free to all participants and provides a great opportunity for kids to connect and experience the life lessons that come with dedication, practice, and competition.
Participants compete in local contests, with winners advancing to district, state, regional, and finally, the national finals. The national finals are held annually in Chicago.
If you’re interested in finding a contest near you or learning more about the program, you can visit the Elks Hoop Shoot website, elks.org/hoopshoot.

Youth 8-13 are invited to compete in three age groups, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13, with girls and boys competing separately.
Participants can only compete at ONE lodge contest per year.
Then, they must compete—and win—at each level along the way before stamping a ticket to the National Finals.
