Seattle Elks and Children’s Hospital
I have worked for Seattle Children’s Research for more than nine years, and I am proud to support them in any capacity that I can. The important work that Children’s does in all facets cannot be understated, and Children’s cannot work without the support of people and other groups like the Elks. One of the significant reasons I chose to join the Seattle lodge was their long and committed relationship with Seattle Children’s. The longer I am involved in both, the more I learn about their shared histories and goals. A few years ago, one of my friends and fellow Elk convinced me to join her in raising money through the Extra Life, the 24-hour straight gaming marathon fundraiser. I enjoyed the experience so much that the next year, we co-captained a team for Seattle Elks (with several other members) at the lodge. That year we ended up raising over $10,000 as a team, and we plan on continuing that tradition. Throughout my time as an Elk, I have helped in numerous other activities at the lodge to raise money and awareness for Seattle Children’s, and I will proudly continue to do so.
