Cameron

Cameron was 11 weeks old when he joined our family. Born with Fragile X Syndrome, we knew he would require special care and therapy along life’s journey. We welcomed Cameron with open hearts and arms! I knew early on that I didn’t want Cameron to grow up in a center or the back seat of the car commuting back and forth for therapy. Constant changes in his routine was simply not an option as it had potential to negatively impact the rest of his (our) day. I knew I wanted something different for my son, I just wasn’t sure what that different looked like. And then we found the Elks Children’s Therapy Program through a caring bus driver!

Cameron’s therapist comes weekly to work with him in his environment. He is calm, relaxed and is always excited to see her arrive. The Elks Children’s Therapy Program is invaluable to Cameron and our family! His therapist is always giving me good instruction on how to further help Cameron reach his fullest potential and helps me to be the best Mom I can be.

There are others behind the scene working tirelessly laminating visual communication cards for Cameron’s communication book. When an unexpected need for AFO’s arose, Cameron’s therapist helped us with scheduling appointments to see a specialist and ultimately casting him for AFO’s (leg braces). Thank you Elks, for all you do!
