Amaury has received occupational therapy through the Elks Therapy Program for nearly a year now. At age 21 months, the reason for his seizure disorder and vision and muscle tone problems are still a mystery to his physicians. However, with his mother and therapist working on movement activities and adjusting his position in his highchair and around his home, he is now able to lift his head to look around his home and at family members’ faces, as well as examine and finger some toys and enjoy his meals. These seem like such small steps to many people – but are important ones for Amaury. His family appreciates learning how to help their little boy become stronger and enjoy some childhood pleasures of play and exploration. Thanks for supporting your Major Project – it has made such a difference for Amaury and so many other children in our communities!
