Everett, Washington
Esteemed Leading Knight Wendy Cook and Esteemed Lecturing Knight Jenny Steele, of the Everett Elks Lodge #479, delivered giant baskets filled with a variety of grab and go snacks to the staff working at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery and Cypress Lawn Cemetery.
These workers, who serve our community in the most difficult of times have been working tirelessly to meet the needs of families experiencing losses which have dramatically increased since the outbreak of COVID-19. These dedicated employees risk their own health to provide a caring and dignified experience for our communities loved ones.
With the encouragement of Exalted Ruler, Jocelyn Sievers-Bailey, Wendy and Jenny reached out to General Manager Pete Cameron. Pete was very grateful that the Elks would think of his employees and shared that it has been a very difficult time, with all his employees working tirelessly day after day for the past few months. When the baskets were delivered on June 9th, they were met with gracious smiles and thank you after thank you.
The employees felt recognized and appreciated for their hard work. It was an honor to represent the giving members of the Everett Elks Lodge #479 and shower these employees with our sincere appreciation for the important work that they do!
Thank you again to Exalted Ruler Jocelyn Sievers-Bailey and Esteemed Leading Knight Wendy Cook for supporting this project and to Beth Beecher for her help putting the gift baskets together. Elks Care, Elks Share – and as the saying goes in Everett, Better Together!
